Sucks to suck, because a certain half-elf can be stubborn when he wants to be.
"P, you in there?" he called. After a minute with no response, he just sat down in front of the door, waiting for her to present herself by either coming back or coming out.
....98-99-100. The count ended and from what little she could hear, there was no more beating at the door.
Peony sighed and rolled out of her dome, opening the door the barest crack to check, swiftly moving to snap it shut again once she realised there was someone sitting outside the door. Shit. Rumbled.
Vax could have tried to push in, but he didn't. "That's fine," he just said, knowing now that she could hear him. "I'll be here whenever you're ready to come out."
"That's opinion. I'm busy. We'll hang out another time, okay? I'm just busy right now with stuff." It sounded lame even to her ears. But sounding lame was better than admitting what was going on.
Vax wasn't inclined to leave a friend alone who was worrying him, especially not one who was being so bad at hiding that something was wrong. He'd made that mistake before and it had come back to bite him in the ass in a quite literal sense. Peony was not going to be a redux of Kynan. So Vax didn't move.

"I told you I was busy." A muffled grumble returned.
