He's still quite miffed to have lost them all in arriving, but--time to start over. Keyleth getting up super early to go tend to something wasn't at all unusual. Between the animal shelter and the two very different gardens, her daily schedule was pretty full, so her rolling out of bed early in the morning every so often wasn't anything worthy of note.
Granted, today it'd been much earlier than usual, because the project took a while and also had to be, um, thoroughly tested, first.
She second guessed herself quite a few times, not the project itself but the delivery of it, but she really wanted it to be a surprise. She messaged Vax to make sure he didn't have plans, asking if he could come back to their room a little earlier than usual. When he walked in, he found his wife clad in one of nighties, her hair braided with brightly colored ribbons. She also looked like she'd gotten started without him, with that flushed and slightly hazy eyed post sex look, as she rushed up to him and kissed him hello.
